Clean ALL the things?
Thursday, September 9th, 2010So contrary to the impression I’ve been giving online, I’m still very much alive and even mostly conscious. A combination of Fan Expo, moving, and being ludicrously sick for like a week dug me a bit of a hole to get out of, and I spent a while feeling an awful lot like this. But now I’m back, largely alert, and ready to work!
Here’s some Fan Expo art I never posted:
Garrus, from Mass Effect. I wish I’d done more than the dozen prints I ended up bringing, because it was ridiculously popular and sold out quickly! I love Garrus.
My dailies also appear to have gone stagnant, but I’m catching up in secret. Sort of. Oh, you’ll see in a day or two.
Ting Tings
Monday, July 26th, 2010Long time no post. Here’s a recent self-promo illo I did of the Ting Tings. While I’m not a fan of all their songs, a few of them are fantastic, and I just adore the juxtaposition of Flailing Hipster Chick Singer with Stoic Sunglasses Man.
And of course, the dailies continue as always.
Del Nouveau
Friday, May 21st, 2010How did I forget to post this? I finished this a couple weeks ago! It’s a companion to my Death Nouveau piece from last year, and it’ll be in a fanart show at 8-bit at the beginning of June, as well as at Fan Expo at the end of the summer in print form.
Also, new shirt up for voting on Threadless!

(This was actually a part of a piece I did in first year – I even had to retrace it from the final jpg, even though it was in vector originally, because I just couldn’t find the old files from 4 years back. Durr.)
Things You’ve Seen Already
Sunday, May 16th, 2010Here’re some things that aren’t exactly brand spanking new, but I’m going to show them to you anyway.
First: A new shirt up at Threadless! It ought to look at least mildly familiar, as it’s a somewhat rearranged version of my Perfectionist piece; the kid’s now gender nonspecific (or that was the intention; it kinda just looks like a boy, really) and the colours are, well, something more shirt-friendly.
Help me out with a vote!
Second, for the people not following my daily site, here’s a couple I’ve done recently that I like a lot.
Sprout
Wednesday, March 24th, 2010A semi-secret project – well, not anymore I guess… I’m planning on assembling a second portfolio in a more dedicated children’s illustration style. Certainly not abandoning the style I have, not by a long shot, just taking this as a chance to play with some things I don’t get to when I do things my usual way. Here’s the first finished piece.
Also, I’ve finally got around to setting up an Etsy Shop. If there’s anything you’d like to see in there as a print (or a bookmark; I’m likely adding those in the next week or two) let me know, and it shall be done.
Aside from that, I’m still posting my dailies. I wish I had more to show here – I recently finished a couple of magazine illustrations that I’m really proud of, but I can’t put them up here until they go to print. So look for those next month – hopefully I’ll have more kiddie drawings to show before then! Maybe even more work!

Thursday, March 4th, 2010The Monthly Daily: Update!
Thursday, February 4th, 2010Hey kids, I’m still alive, still making art, still unable to blog most of what I’ve been doing. I am, however, still updating the Monthly Daily, my daily artblog, quite religiously. I finished the first month – history! – and am now on to a new theme. Check it out! Here’s a few of my favourites from January:
New Daily Blog: The Monthly Daily
Friday, January 8th, 2010That’s right kids, it’s a whole new blog! I’ll be making a valiant attempt at posting a new image every single day, on a different theme each month. Check it out, pretty please? The more people who follow it the more terrified I’ll be of failing so publicly. For January, the theme is Stuck In The Past, i.e. clothing and styles from history. Here’s a couple of my favourites thus far.

It’s A Secret
Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009I’ve been working, really. I’ve got a couple of honest, professional gigs done that I can’t post yet, and other things too unfinished to put up. But this – my contribution to the artistic secret santa organized by Craig – well, I just can’t sit on it any longer. It’s hours away from Christmas eve, the person it’s for probably doesn’t even read this journal, and besides, if the intended recipient hasn’t got it by now, Canada Post sucks and I hate it.
Haven’t done a full-on watercolour in ages, and it was actually quite fun, although I wish I’d had just a little more time. I’d forgotten how hard it is to make things right without an undo button. Okay, so there’s a little digital manipulation in the posted version, but that’s mostly because by the time I realized how bad the scan was, it was already in the mail.
Also, I just realized that anybody visiting this blog for the first time might see the header, see this, and assume that I specialize in bored, irritated chicks.
